This bass was commissioned by the Aalborg Symfoniorkester Denmark.
The original bass that this was modelled on was made by William Tarr in 1829 for the Halle orchestra or the Manchester Gentlemans Orchestra as it was then called which Tarr was also a bassist in.
The bass is large yet manageable and gives enormous power to the bass section.
